SCRAM SCAMS

Bogus 900 Line Opportunities

The Set-Up:

Dionne Warwick has one, MTV has one, even the Pope has one! Why not you?  Have your very own personal 900# and make money even as you sleep...

You may have come across this type of ad, or seen it listed as Physic Readers or Counselor. The fee ranges from $50 to $500 for your own 900 line. These 900 business opportunities have been heavily advertised over the last few years as a great way to make money. In theory, you start up a simple phone line and people start calling by the thousands. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?

The Scam:

After you pay your $50 to $500 fee, you will earn money each time someone calls your 900 number. Most companies also require that you pay a yearly membership or operators fee ranging from $50 to $200 annually. What they do not tell you is that you are responsible for all advertising of your 900 line, which can costs thousands of dollars per month.

The Cold Hard Truth:

There are some psychic lines that are generating millions of dollars in calls per month however, their serious advertising efforts (including television, radio and magazines) costs upwards of $50,000 per month! One, small magazine ad will probably run you around $3,000. While some "900" numbers make substantial money, most do not. In fact, you will probably never earn more than your initial investment.

From time to time, we see actual job offers for Tarot Readers, Physics or Phone Actresses and will list such opportunities as long as no fees or investments are required. So do not be discouraged. However, you should make sure that you know how to spot a scam. Read our Tarot Reader/Physics Scram-Scam and then visit SOHO Fast Finds where we list real opportunities for telephone representatives.

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel:

SOHO Jobs does not tolerate scams, tricks, misleading opportunities or any other solicitations made by the pond scum who are only after your money and not your skills. Contact our Scram Scams! division before sending any fees to a work-at-home opportunity. If the company is legit, we will let you know. If not, we will feature them in our weekly newsletter for all subscribers to see and avoid.
