A company advertises that work-at-home wannabe’s can earn more than $100,000 as an "Internet Consultants", “Web Site Owner” or “Internet Business Operator.” The work is easy and no experience is needed. The company claims to teach you everything you’ll need to know to be successful. They offer a free seminar that will explain how to "make big money on the Internet." Sounds great right?

The Scam

Wrong… The free seminar is really just a cover for a high-pressured sales pitch for an Internet yellow pages or Internet mall business opportunity. The company promises to deliver Internet and sales training for a fee of several thousand dollars. Consumers hoping to launch a lucrative enterprise never get the promised training and frankly, never earn the promised amounts.

The Cold Hard Truth

Realize that seminar "consultants" often are there to sell you a business opportunity, not teach you Internet business basics. In fact, they may be counting on your lack of experience with computers or the Internet to help them make money.

It is also important to remember that the inflated fees that are required to get a website in the “yellow pages” or “Internet Mall” are nonrefundable and a waste of money! Anyone can easily start a website for less than $25.00. Furthermore, most Yellow Pages advertising opportunities provide low traffic to your new website. You’ll have much better luck submitting your site to established search engines and directories like Yahoo and Google.

Bottom Line

Internet Yellow Pages and Internet Mall opportunities are a waste of time and money.
